The securing of habitat mitigation contributions in accordance with the Upper Nene Valley Gravel Pits SPD Mitigation Strategy ensured no adverse effect on the integrity of the designated European site, and the minimal visual impact of the demolition and new dwellings on character and appearance meant the proposal accorded with the development plan.
