What decided it

The siting and appearance of the monopole would not be unduly prominent in an area already dominated by substantial electricity pylons and industrial structures, and the shared facility location with removal of the existing opposite mast secured by condition outweighs the MOL designation concerns.

The benefits of the shared telecommunications facility and enhancement to services in the area, supported by NPPF paragraph 114, outweighed the concerns regarding siting and appearance within the Metropolitan Open Land.
