What decided it

The retention of Building 7 would erode the setting of the permitted dwelling on Plot 2 and undermine the justification for allowing two new houses contrary to local policy, resulting in negative consequences for the character and appearance of the AONB.

The proposal's limited benefits (low density, single storey, well-screened appearance, internal planting) did not outweigh the harm to the AONB and conflict with development plan policies requiring enhancement to the immediate setting and location at sustainable, accessible locations.
