What decided it
The significant harm to the living conditions of the fifth-floor occupiers of the host property through the loss of 15 rooflights and alteration to the remaining 6 rooflights, which would substantially reduce the light and airy character of these residential units, outweighed the modest contribution to housing supply.
The modest benefit to local housing supply was insufficient to outweigh the significant harm to the living conditions of neighbouring occupiers, particularly the fifth-floor residents of the host property.
