What decided it

The unacceptable adverse effect on the character and appearance of the area caused by the urbanising incursion into open countryside, which conflicts with Policies S13 and S16 of the Alnwick Core Strategy and outweighs the modest housing benefits.

The modest weight afforded to the provision of 4 homes and limited social and economic benefits was outweighed by the significant weight given to the harm to local character and appearance and conflict with development plan policies S13 and S16.
