What decided it

The development's residential use and domesticated appearance is incongruous with the natural rural beauty of the AONB landscape and fails to conserve its scenic beauty, conflicting with development plan policies that restrict countryside housing to special circumstances.

The great weight afforded to protecting the landscape and scenic beauty of the AONB and the need to uphold planning policies restricting countryside development outweighed the personal circumstances of the occupants, with the interference with their home found to be proportionate and justifiable.
