What decided it

The proposed extension would appear as an unacceptably dominant first floor addition that would overwhelm the appearance of the existing dwelling to the detriment of the character and appearance of the dwelling and surrounding area.

The very small economic benefit from construction was outweighed by the adverse effect on character and appearance and the failure to constitute sustainable development.
