The proposed alterations would restore symmetry to the asymmetrical existing roof and the rear dormer would not be awkward or unsatisfactory in its context, particularly given that similar dormers are commonplace on traditional residential buildings and can often be constructed as permitted development.

The limited contribution to residential accommodation in a sustainable urban location weighed in favour of the appeal, and the scheme was not in conflict with the Development Plan.
