What decided it

Both appeals were decided by the likely adverse effect on the integrity of the Arun Valley sites through increased water abstraction, which could not be mitigated and conflicted with the Habitats Regulations and development plan policy.

The social and economic benefits of housing delivery did not outweigh the unacceptable harm to the Arun Valley sites and, in the case of Appeal B, the unacceptable harm to living conditions and character and appearance.
