What decided it
The proposed side and rear dormers would disrupt the traditional hipped roof profile and symmetrical appearance of the terrace group, causing less than substantial harm to the conservation area that was not outweighed by the private benefit of additional living space.
The less than substantial harm to the heritage asset caused by the loft conversion was not outweighed by the private benefit of additional living space; the alterations to the rear extension preserved character and appearance and were therefore acceptable.
