What decided it

The modest scale of the extensions, their subservient design, the limited visual prominence of the side extension in the streetscene, and the negligible and non-harmful intrusion into tree Root Protection Areas supported by expert arboricultural evidence outweighed the Council's concerns.

The benefits of allowing modest extensions that respect the character of the host dwelling and streetscene, and that would not cause harmful impact to protected trees, outweighed the concerns about gap closure and tree encroachment.
