Main issues, as the Inspector framed them
- the effect of the proposed developments on the character and appearance of the host property and the surrounding area
What decided it
The contemporary fenestration, materials and roof form of the proposed extension in Appeal A, and the barrel vaulted side dormer in Appeal B, would fail to reflect and complement the character and appearance of the Edwardian host property and Conservation Area.
The acceptable design aspects of each scheme were significantly and demonstrably outweighed by the unacceptable design features; for Appeal B, less than substantial harm to the heritage asset was not outweighed by any public benefits.
