The bulk, mass and design of the proposed roof extension, particularly the gable-ended roof with hip at apex, would substantially erode the sense of spaciousness between roof forms that characterises the area, causing unacceptable visual harm that is not outweighed by the renewable energy benefits of the solar panels.
