What decided it
The significant harm to the character and appearance of the area identified in both schemes, combined in Appeal A with inadequate internal space standards for certain units, outweighed the benefits of housing delivery when assessed against the Framework as a whole.
The benefits of housing delivery and affordable housing provision, together with economic benefits, sustainability of location, carbon offset, biodiversity net gain and footpath improvements, were outweighed by the significant harm to character and appearance and, in Appeal A, the poor residential environment created by inadequate internal space standards.
