What decided it

The unacceptable and harmful effect on the character and appearance of the area and failure to conserve the natural beauty of the AONB, to which great weight must be given under paragraph 176 of the Framework, outweighed the moderate benefits of housing delivery and other considerations.

The great weight afforded to the adverse impacts on AONB landscape character and rural tranquillity outweighed the moderate weight given to the collective benefits of housing supply, construction employment, economic contribution, and limited highway safety improvements.
