The proposed two-storey dwelling would be disproportionately larger than the existing bungalow in overall scale and form, and its contemporary design would create a commanding and incongruous building that would be harmful to the character and appearance of the rural area, contrary to Policies SWDP2, SWDP18, SWDP21 and SWDP25.
