What decided it
The less than substantial but significant harm to the setting of the Grade II* listed building and the character of the conservation area, to which great and very considerable weight respectively must be given, outweighed the moderate benefits of housing provision and economic activity.
The moderate benefits of 6 net residential dwellings, limited economic benefits during construction, and social benefits of downsizing opportunities were outweighed by less than substantial harm to the conservation area (great weight) and less than substantial harm to the Grade II* listed building setting (very considerable weight), resulting in dismissal of the appeal.
