What decided it

The dormer's location on a rear roof slope not visible from the public realm, combined with its visual containment by neighbouring flat-roofed additions and the existing context of large rear dormers on Hendham Road, meant the additional 30cm width would not cause material harm to character and appearance or the conservation area.
