What decided it

The introduction of a gable roof to only one side of the semi-detached pair would disrupt the symmetry and rhythm of the prevailing roofscape, conflicting with Policy HS11 and the Supplementary Planning Guidance which explicitly prohibits such asymmetrical roof designs.
