What decided it
The significant harm to the character of the countryside caused by the introduction of new built development (the shop/leisure building and eight holiday lodges) on currently undeveloped land within the Protected Rural Setting, combined with the failure to provide reasonable access to services and facilities by means other than car, outweighed the economic benefits of the proposal.
The significant economic benefits of the development, including job creation and meeting identified visitor accommodation needs, did not outweigh the significant harm to countryside character and the failure to accord with the development plan policies.
