What decided it

The significant undersupply of housing in the borough (2.6-year supply) and the contribution of seven additional dwellings in a sustainable location outweighed the limited harm to character and appearance caused by the extension.

The adverse impacts of granting planning permission (limited harm to character and appearance) did not significantly and demonstrably outweigh the benefits of providing seven additional dwellings in an area with significant housing undersupply and in a sustainable location with good access to shops, services and transport.
