What decided it

The less than substantial harm to the significance of the Wyre Piddle Conservation Area caused by development within its setting, combined with the site's unsuitability in terms of accessibility to local services and facilities, could not be outweighed by the public benefits of housing delivery despite the substantial housing land supply shortfall.

The less than substantial harm to the heritage significance of the conservation area and the conflict with development plan policies on sustainability and accessibility, even when weighed against considerable public benefits from housing delivery in a district with only 1.1 years' supply, did not justify permission.
