Main issues, as the Inspector framed them
- The effect that varying the opening hours would have on the living conditions of neighbouring residents with regard to noise and disturbance
What decided it
The Noise Impact Assessment demonstrated that background noise levels, and therefore the impact of customer vehicle movements, during the proposed extended evening hours would be comparable to and no more harmful than during the existing early morning opening period.
The benefit of extended opening hours providing greater flexibility and convenience for customers was not outweighed by any significant noise and disturbance harm to neighbouring living conditions, and the appeal was therefore allowed.
