The hip-to-gable roof conversion and rear dormer would disrupt the distinctive symmetry and cohesive character of the row of semi-detached hipped roof houses and, combined with the rear extension, create unacceptable cumulative massing harm to the character and appearance of the host dwelling and surrounding area.
