Main issues, as the Inspector framed them
- The effects of the proposal on the character and appearance of the area
What decided it
The reduced scale and form of the chalet bungalow design, compared to the previously dismissed two-storey scheme, adequately addresses concerns over preserving street scene openness and character while complying with development plan policies and gaining substantial support from the Framework.
The benefits of providing homes and making effective use of land within settlements, to which the Framework requires substantial weight to be given, outweigh the limited adverse effects on character and appearance, which have not been found to weigh against the proposal to a degree that would substantially outweigh those benefits.
