Main issues, as the Inspector framed them
- The effect of the proposed porch, side extension and storage building on the streetscene and the character and appearance of the host dwelling and locality
What decided it
The gabled roof forms of the porch and side extension would create a visually disjointed relationship with the hipped roof character of the host dwelling and locality, conflicting with Policy CS19 and Framework Policy DP3 1, and this harm substantially outweighs the modest benefits of the scheme.
The modest benefits of construction activity, energy efficiency improvements and additional accommodation space were substantially outweighed by the adverse effects on streetscene character and appearance and conflict with national decision-making policies.
