The effect of the shed on sunlight, daylight and obtrusiveness to neighbouring residential occupiers was small and did not justify the council's refusal of permission.

The reasonable expectation of the business at No. 18 to use its land to best advantage was weighed against the degree of harm to the occupiers of Nos. 20A and 20B, with the former outweighing the latter.
