What decided it
The proposed roof lantern would conflict with the simple traditional architectural detailing of the grade II listed farmhouse, causing less than substantial harm to the heritage assets that could not be outweighed by the private benefits of additional living space.
The less than substantial harm to the significance of the designated heritage assets was weighed against the public benefits of the proposals; the private benefits of improved living conditions were insufficient to outweigh the great weight attached to the harm to the heritage assets.
