The opening up would better reveal an element of the listed building's special interest as part of its original intended elevational treatment, counterbalancing the modest loss of later non-original fabric.

The modest loss of the later lath and plaster covering and internal cupboard was outweighed by the benefit of revealing and reinstating an element of the building's original special interest and historic character.
