What decided it
The cumulative effect of the oversized and disproportionate extensions, particularly the two-storey side and rear elements with substantial dormer additions, would dominate the host building and disrupt the street scene, while the three-storey height development adjoining the boundary of 49 Netherlands Road would cause unacceptable loss of outlook.
The benefits of additional living accommodation and functionality were outweighed by the unacceptable harm to character and appearance of the host dwelling and area, and the harm to living conditions through loss of outlook for neighbouring occupiers.
