What decided it

The cramped and discordant form of the two storey detached houses with limited spacing between them would harm the spacious and verdant character of the area, which outweighed the benefits of additional housing provision and improved housing mix.

The benefits of providing an additional dwelling in an accessible location within the settlement boundary and widening the housing mix were outweighed by the unacceptable detrimental impact on the character and appearance of the area
