What decided it

The proposal would cause harm to the character and appearance of the area including the openness and undeveloped character of the AONB, conflicting with the development plan's protective policies and NPPF paragraph 176, with no sufficiently compelling reason to depart from the development plan.

The harm to the character and appearance of the AONB outweighed the economic benefits of rural employment, as development plan policies and the Framework place great weight on protecting AONB landscape and scenic beauty.
