Main issues, as the Inspector framed them
- The effect of the proposal on the safety of users of the pavement and traffic safety
What decided it
The proposal would lead to obstruction of the footway by parked vehicles, creating a hazard to users of the pavement, particularly vulnerable users, which would not accord with development plan policies aiming to provide safe places and avoid an increase in road danger.
The benefits of promoting ultra-low emission vehicles through the charging point were of insufficient weight to justify a grant of planning permission contrary to the development plan policies protecting pedestrian safety.
