What decided it

The substantial visual harm caused by the siting and appearance of the mast in a residential area of open, spacious character, combined with inadequate evidence of alternative sites and insufficient consideration of design mitigation, outweighed the benefits of the telecommunications infrastructure.

The benefits of 5G network rollout and telecommunications infrastructure, whilst important, did not outweigh the substantial visual harm to the character and appearance of the area.
