Appeal B's incorporation of the first floor extension within an extended roof created a subordinate, integrated design that respected the character of the area and complied with policy requirements for high-quality design responsive to local context, whereas Appeal A's flat roof extension would dominate the rear elevation and conflict with design guidance.
