What decided it
The substantially increased width of windows in the front elevation and garage door in the gable end would create a low solid to void ratio contrary to National Park design guidance and would be harmful to the character and appearance of the host dwelling and its setting.
The neutral benefits of removing redundant stable buildings and the absence of harm to neighbouring living conditions, ecology and highway safety did not outweigh the harm to character and appearance caused by the proposed window and door amendments.
