What decided it

The proposed garage, subject to mitigating landscape conditions including removal of the timber boundary fence and shrub planting, would not unduly harm the character and appearance of the street scene at this particular location within the estate.

The reduction in openness of the corner plot was outweighed by the acceptable scale and design of the garage and the availability of conditions to mitigate visual impact through landscaping.
