Main issues, as the Inspector framed them
- The effect of the proposed development on the living conditions of the existing occupiers of No 67a Hiltingbury Road, with regard to outlook and daylight and sunlight
What decided it
The proposed side elevation would cause substantial harm to the living conditions of the neighbouring occupiers through unacceptable overbearing impact and restriction of daylight and sunlight to the rear garden and dining room, contrary to development plan policies requiring appropriate siting, design, mass and scale.
The limited benefits of construction activity, increased dwelling supply and improvements to the appeal site dwelling were outweighed by the substantial harm to the living conditions of neighbouring occupiers with respect to outlook, daylight and sunlight.
