What decided it
The substantial visual harm caused by the siting and appearance of the 15-metre mast in a low-rise residential setting, combined with insufficient evidence of site selection justification, outweighed the benefits of 5G infrastructure provision.
The benefits of 5G network rollout and improved telecommunications coverage, whilst important, did not outweigh the substantial harm to the character and appearance of the area caused by the design, siting and context of the proposed development and the lack of evidence regarding consideration of alternative sites.
