The submitted environmental noise assessment and lighting assessment, supported by the Inspector's site observations, demonstrated that the proposal would not have a materially adverse impact on the living conditions of local residents due to noise, light or other pollution.
The benefits of providing a restaurant and drive-thru facility in an accessible location close to the M20 and Eurotunnel terminal, with potential to reduce traffic elsewhere in Folkstone, were not outweighed by the modest effects on noise, light pollution and other environmental impacts on nearby dwellings.
