What decided it
The design features of the replacement dwelling, including recessed windows, timber louvres, and roof overhangs, would reduce light spillage and upward glow compared to the existing building, thereby maintaining the dark night sky of the AONB.
Great weight must be given to conserving and enhancing landscape and scenic beauty in AONBs, but the Inspector was satisfied that the development would have an acceptable impact on the character and appearance of the area and would not materially affect the dark night sky.
