What decided it
The loss of the boundary hedge typical of the immediate area and its replacement with a modern close boarded fence and ivy living wall would not sympathetically integrate with its surroundings and would have a detrimental effect on the AONB, conflicting with development plan policies and paragraph 176 of the Framework.
The ecological benefits claimed by the appellant did not overcome or outweigh the harm identified to the character and appearance of the area and the AONB.
