What decided it

The proposed development would result in a visually intrusive form of development that would be oppressive and overbearing, severely diminishing the living conditions of neighbouring occupants through loss of light and outlook, contrary to Policy DC1 and the SPD.

The balance between those wishing to extend and safeguarding the living conditions of neighbouring occupiers tipped against the appeal, as the harm to neighbouring amenity was unacceptable.
