What decided it

The excessive height of the mast and its positioning would result in it appearing as an incongruous feature harmful to the character of the area, and the need for the proposal does not outweigh this harm given that less harmful alternatives have not been properly explored.

The substantial benefits of 5G coverage and telecommunications infrastructure were outweighed by the harm to character and appearance and significant harm to residential outlook.
