Planning appeal decision

Dismissed22 March 20223279870

Frog & Effet Stairbridge Lane, Bolney, HAYWARDS HEATH, RH17 5PA

We currently live in a separate annex to the main house and we would like to separate the two properties with the goal being to create two different addresses as we intend to sell our property. We propose to do this by dividing the land up with a 5 foot fence with a 1 foot trellis attached and creating a new gated entrance at the front of the property

Main issues, as the Inspector framed them

  • The effect that the proposed development would have on the living conditions of the occupiers of The Frog and Effet and the appeal building, regarding privacy

What decided it

The proposed development would significantly harm the privacy of occupiers of both The Frog and Effet and the appeal building due to overlooking from the modest distances between the buildings' glazed openings and balcony.
