The proposed extensions would introduce an incongruous feature that would harm the significance of the grade II listed farmstead and the conservation area, and the private benefits of improved living conditions were insufficient to outweigh the great weight required to be given to the conservation of the heritage assets.

The less than substantial harm to the significance of the grade II listed Yew Tree Farmhouse and the Ravenstone Conservation Area was weighed against the private benefits of improved living conditions for the occupiers, and the harm outweighed the benefits.
