What decided it

The appeal site is located within the recently adopted settlement boundary for Great Bentley, a Rural Service Centre identified as a sustainable location for small-scale windfall housing, and the proposal accords with an up-to-date development plan with appropriate planning obligations secured.

The benefits of new homes delivery on a suitable site within an existing settlement were given great weight, outweighing local objections, as the proposal accorded with the development plan and national policy objectives to boost housing supply.
