The outbuilding's agricultural style, sensitive material palette and appropriate scale within the historic farmstead complex meant it preserved the character and appearance of the conservation area and World Heritage Site, whereas the fencing, decking and pergola were modern incongruous features causing unjustified harm to the designated heritage assets.
