The proposed 1.7m high close-boarded fences and gate would be stark, prominent features that would significantly harm the character and appearance of this sensitive edge-of-village location by creating an abrupt change from the adjacent field hedgerow and comparing unfavourably with the generally much lower front boundary features that prevail in the immediate area.
