The substantial framework and bulk of the proposed canopy structure would harmfully erode the visually attractive gap between buildings and the full-width first floor glazing would introduce an excessive glass-to-wall ratio that would be incongruous within the positive group of buildings in the conservation area, and the public benefits did not outweigh this harm.
